Australians in general are really nice people, but their custom officers at the airports are among the rudest in the world. I don't know what their problem is... I realize they have a job to do, but I just feel that they are extremely judgmental workers, unlike those in Europe. That's one of the reasons I don't visit Australia any more because I hate their customs staff.

But the Australian public is civic-minded.... they sure know how to maintain the cleanliness of the restrooms and streets, and that I truly appreciate. And I think people have to dispel rumors that they have this so-called "tall poppy syndrome" because that isn't true at all... Aussies are helpful, friendly and kind... maybe this label should just be stuck onto the customs people... but the rest of Aussies are super nice and polite.

with the current state of the world, i believe australia is one of the easiest places to exist happily, freely & comfortably. Australians, when once took living in paradise for granted, I now think are very aware that they live in the lucky country. Granted it's in no way without it's problems but it's pristine environment is awesome & no matter your colour, lifestyle or religion etc.. it has to be one of the most tolerant and overall accepting societies on a whole in the world. Generally, aussies really don't give poo about who or what anyone is as long as they treat others with kindness and don't cause problems. It really is very easy going & casual in it's attitude & approach to life. If you are unemployed you still have top notch health care and can afford to eat seafood, steak & drink beer... now that's one hell of a lucky country & seriously one of a kind in this way. Now if we could just get rid of little Johnny Howard
