A fellow Yahoo'ite responded to a conception question. He/she said, "Get your husband to save his sperms in the testacles for at least 3 days before sex to enable them to mature well to do their job. "
My partner and I are trying to conceive and make love daily at the moment (from day 11 of cycle to 17th). Is waiting 24 hours enough time to allow the sperms to mature enough to 'do their job'?

Hope you can clarrify this for my partner and I.

I agree, everyday isn't nessecary. Two or three times a week is usually enough. Keep in mind that sperm can survive inside a woman for up to 72 hours!

I believe that the key to conception is to relax. Enjoy yourself, and take it easy. Stress, can only make things worse.

Good luck and Happy New Year!

omg and you do not need to orgasm to get pregnant. He does though!

If you do not have an ejaculation for more than 3 days the extra sperm that is stored is re-absorbed. Your best bet is to hit the mark on day 11 and not have sex for 72 hours prior to day 11. Also having an ejaculation every 72 hours prepares a normal rhythmic cycle that optimizes sperm concentration at the end of the 72 hour cycle.

So get use to having sex every 72 hours up to day 11 even the month before. Have it ever 24 hours or 12 hours starting at the day 11 point for up to 72 hours and then begin again at the next cycle.

A woman does NOT need to orgasm to conceive. Some people post the most ridiculous things on this site. My doctor told me it is okay to have sex daily during your window of ovulation i.e. days 10 thru 20 of your cycle. Now if your husband has low sperm count then do it every other day.

The waiting 3 days for the sperm to mature is really for couples who suffer from low sperm count and mobility. You want a good supply of sperm and ones that are mature and strong to do their magic. Some couples even find not having sex until the day of ovulation helps to ensure sperm survival. Normally, its suggested to have sex every other day or every day during your fertile peak. That is if there is no chance of low sperm count. So just enjoy the extra nookie time and if you both are young and no history of fertility problems, keep doing it on your schedule. Good luck

As long as your partner has a healthy sperm count then yes 24 hours is enough for him to rebuild his sperm. And waiting at least three days may not be a good idea because the sperm will be old and they do start to die eventually. My doctor told me that every day or at least every other day is the best way.

Sperm don't need to "mature" but it does take a while to make more. Sometimes doctors will reccomend having sex every other day so that he has time to make more and there are more in the semen when he comes.

All that to say...we got pregnant just fine having sex everyday

Every second day is best, you don't need to do it every day, as sperm survives a couple days inside. It is also true to build up the sperm, every day is probably too much. Also, not every one ovulates in the middle of their cycle, so have you concidered charting your ovulation?? fertilityfriend.com is good for help :-)

Stop trying and start playing more. You can only conceive when both of you orgasm. A woman's orgasm is like a big push out and then a big suck in. So its not just a matter of the right day its timing on both your parts. No orgasm off the female and the male then no baby.
Sometimes if you stop the timing and the planing and just enjoy the sex it just happens.
