LCD gives you better edge to edge view. I use a seventeen inch and it give me the space of a eighteen inch CRT. A nineteen inch LCD takes up less desk space that a twenty inch CRT however performes as well if not better.

Never had a leak yet.

The answer is CRT is faster on average. The difference is in the number of resolutions you can have. A CRT is capable of many more resolutions than an LCD. A lot of games prefer the CRT because of speed. However, Some LCD are getting great response times now. I bought an ACER 19" widescreen LCD that gets a response time of 3Ms. Fast enough.

LCD has a sharper image than a CRT monitor, aside from the fact that it is very thin and takes up a lot less desk space. The only real advantage of a CRT monitor is relatively low cost.

And, no, LCD does NOT leak liquid! Where did you hear that?!?!

Enjoy your new monitor, whatever type you choose!

CRT (Cathode Ray Tubes) still give the best performance but are much heavier. I would recomend an LCD ( Liquid Crystal Display ) for a new computer monitor. The lighter weight is an added benifit. Heck, you could even hang it on the wall and clear up some more space on your desk !

Laptops use lcd (lcd) or new ones might use LED (gentle Emitting Diode). CRT is a Cathode Ray Tube. The previous, heavy kind of television/visual show unit with a tumbler Panel and are very infrequently used any extra. those of course are not suitable for a computing device via heavy glass panel, and impossible to make right into a flat show as they artwork with the aid of making use of an electron gun to fireside electrons interior the direction of the vacuum tube onto a florescent show.

Every product eventually has issues
CRTs get crappy pictures as they age too.
New CRTs have good pictures but are heavy and take up lots of space.
The LCDs are nice and light and take up little space.
Go compare at store that has lots of brands running side by side. Different brands do give slightly different pics and you can choose the one that works for you .
