I think what you wanted to ask in the "Poll & Surveys" was very much relevant for me when I was a kid and a lot of questions were in my head.
During those days of 1960s and 1970s, we had to rely on newspapers, radio, teachers and elders to answer our all types of questions conceivable. In some cases, we even would get the wrong or semi-right answers, but there were few options out to get to know the validity of answers.
Only the very rich people could afford to buy the Encyclopedia and such knowledge/information receptacles. From 1980s and 1990s the scenarios started changing so fast that it is now information overload that is causing problem (lol).
As for me, I am here over 8-months now and I have already suffered physically by way of getting pain in my right hand elbow, apparently due to constant use of the 'mouse' in Y!A Q&A sessions. I have asked just 10 questions and found that I am not a good "Asker" and stopped after spending my early 50-points! Mind it, in initial days we did not have free 100-points for the beginners as they do have sometimes from middle of last year.
I found that it is literally more rewarding to "Answer" questions put forward here. You earn points 2 + 10 (BA) and also you get to learn so many info and side kicks just while researching for the "Answer".
Anyway, you are right that Y!A itself is going to be some kind of 'religion' in a few years time when we would be addicted to it like we are to our traditional religions!

lol, When I am in the shower, I get an instant flash and an amazing question pops into my head. I come here and click on the "ask" option and find the question is lost somewhere in my head. Then I end up asking some senseless inane question. lol.

Of course! You ask someone something, but before you do, you have to get the words just right, especially to get past the censors! Does that make us a loser?
