I guess if you are a Sunni Muslim in Iraq, he was a good guy.If you are a She-ite Muslim in Iraq, then he was a bad guy. Depends which side of the fence you happen to be.
But as far as the US goes, when we were selling him weapons and giving him money to back him against Iran, I guess we thought he was a pretty good guy back then. Things change, depending on political expedience.

Saddam Hussain was better than
our Indian Leaders, who had the
GUTs to state that he had ordered
killing those 140 Shias.
Our leaders do all such things but
deny to have even the knowledge
of it. These leaders in India are eating
away the entire nation, like termites,
and are responsibnle for poverty, suicides,
hunger, crimes and looting the Exchequer.

This answer will probably get me in trouble with the present administration.
Saddam became the leader of his country. With ultimate power (listen up Georgee Boy) comes ultimate evil!
Saddam ran his country in such a way that he was terrified at loosing it. He killed anyone who got in his way. When he followed what the United States wanted him to do he was an Aly and a friend - when he didn't he became "most wanted".
Did he deserve to die? That is a question for God to answer. I choose to look at him as a sad example of what power can do to someone.

There are two sides of a coin. Saddam was a hero for the Sunni Muslims and a terrorist for the Americans(no offence). It depends on how you picture Saddam. If you ask me, I think we should leave this topic because there is no use crying over spilt milk.

First of all he wasn't a guy, he was a buffalo.
Saddam was a bad guy for every1 else but he was good for the Iraqis.
If Saddam should be hanged why not Bush, even he killed so many innocent Iraqis.
Law is Law, but y is it partial towards some1 ????!!

He was good as long as he served US interests in the Middle East, after he stopped doing this he became the bad guy as far as the US government is concerned...
Anyway I really wouldn't say that he was a good guy,he killed many people...but the way he was judged and killed by the American occupants definitely turned him into a martyr for many Iraqis and not only for them...

every one can be good and be bad ,, depend on who says that ..
for example USA people can`t say that Sadam was a bad person
cose he didn`t threat any of them , unless we talked about oil
the one thing maks the USA gov .. get crazy .. this war was
about Oil No more . do u think that Usa cares about Iraq or
any other countries ?? let me see ... Afghanistan and now Iran
all of this countries have oil and that`s the point .
why they didn`t go to help others like Uganda ,,, they really need
help ... or why Usa didn`t go into war with Korea ??? cose they
Don`t have oil .. sadam was a bad person into his country
with his own people . like many other countries . but he wasn`t
bad with any one out side Iraq

yes,i find him as a bad guy.Who gave him the right to kill people?his 1st fault was racial discrimination being a leader of a nation and 2ndly he was a cold blooded murderer...
but i think his execution was unfair becoz first of all he easily escaped from all his sins and secondly his trial should have been done by the iraqi people and not by the puppet govt of america or rather say BUSH!

Saddam was attacked by the West for keeping WMDs, but the WMDs were not found. He was victimized, badly tried through remote control, and hastily executed.
