And if you use the mousepad, do you tap the mousepad to left click? Just curious. Thanks.

Depends on your preference.
If you are used to a desktop and just switched to a laptop, you'll want to attach a mouse since its more convenient.

If you lack space for an attached mouse, the mousepad will do best for you.

I tap the mousepad to left click... its easier =)

Both... I usually use the mousepad when I'm typing stuff and the mouse for everything else.

I have a MacBook and it doesn't have the tap thing.

My old one did and I liked it but now when I use a laptop with the left click tap its annoying because I accidentally click everything...

I use the mousepad. I turned off the tap to click feature. I had so many problems with It. If someone could show me the advantages of the feature then I might use it.

I just use the mousepad when I'm out and about. But if I'm at a desk or at home I bust out a mouse to use with it.

Hi Earth_win,
Basically you can use either. The touch pad or mouse pad as you called it is less comfortable to use I find, especially dragging windows etc. so I think you should put a mouse in your laptop case to give you the option of both, there are so many pockets in those cases.
Happy computing and Happy New Yr.

Personally, I prefer an add-on mouse. Good wireless ones are reasonably priced too. The only exception is when I'm in a meeting or a seminar. You haven't a workspace, so the touchpad is the last resort unless you want to go to a ball system.
