we have a 2 story house, the bedrooms are upstairs. just bought our house in June 2006. found a bees nest in the corner of one of the windows in my teenager's room(she got stung). it is between the 2 glass windows, one that is in her room and the other facing the outside. was thinking of just climbing on a ladder and opening the window on the outside(since the weather is not snowy, yet) and just try to knock into a garbage bag. ? is: WOULD THE BEES BE OUT, EVEN THOUGH THE WEATHER IS ABOVE 40? AND TAKING A BROOM OR WOOD TO KNOCK IT DOWN? OR SHOULD I JUST WAIT?
daughter said she tried to get to it from inside the room but cant.
ANY HELP FROM SOMEONE THAT HAS BEDROOMS ON THE SECOND FLOOR AND HAD TO GET A BEES NEST OUT? OTHERWISE DONT JUST ASSUME, I NEED REAL SOLUTION BEFORE SUMMER AGAIN. DONT WANT HER TO GET STUNG AGAIN, AND CANT OPEN HER WINDOWS IN HER BEDROOM TO BRING FRESH AIR IN.

You said above 40 degrees, so they would be somewhat awake and able to sting.
Take the window off on the outside, then a pressure nozzle on your hose is the best bet, it gets you some distance from the nest and knocks it down good. Have a can of Hotshot or other wasp killer in the other hand to use if you have to..
After it's all cleaned up, you'll want to spray some hotshot into that window before you put the outside one back on, they do like to return to the same place year after year to nest.

What kind of "Bees"? Wasps? Honey Bees? Red wasps?
I would suggest you get some Raid or Hotshot wasp and hornet killer spray and use it to zap the buggers!
The colder the weather the more lethargic the critters will be..........so the chance of being stung is greatly diminished.
Heard a story about a guy once that discovered a large Hornets nest on a tree limb along the bank of a river where he was fishing.
He thought it would be nice to have for a conversation piece.
Well he broke the tree limb and placed the nest in his boat. When he returned to the landing he put the nest into his pick up truck.
He started up his truck and let the heater run........did I mention it was winter time? 15 or 20 minutes into his journey home the heat had warmed up the critters from their hibernation. One can only imagine the panic that occurred in the cab of that truck..........
Good Luck!

We got a can of wasp and hornet spray that had a straw that fit over the nozzle hole. I opened the window just enough to get the straw in and sprayed the whole can. I waited a couple days then opened it from the outside at night and knocked the nest out of the window. I'd wait to open the window until it's as cold outside as possible and it'd probably be a good idea not to let your daughter sleep in there after you spray until you can clean out the bug spray so she doesn't breathe the fumes.

What we did was spray it with a Poison (Store Recommended) and less than a day the Wasps cleared out and then we knocked down the nest. Make sure and give the bees a way of escape.
Should be no trouble at all.

I'd call someone to get rid of them. If you knew for sure what they were, and if they were honeybees, you could call your township, and they would be able to give you a list of beekeepers who take swarms. Although, not all beekeepers are willing to take bees out of a house, there are some who do. More often then not, they take swarms for free. Hope this helps Good luck

If you are in an area where the weather gets cold, the hive will go dormant during the winter and you can remove it. I have removed paper wasps from my porch this way. The other solution is to get an exterminator.

Personally I love terminating bee/hornet/wasp and their hives.
If you have a pressure washer you're in luck. Otherwise your pole idea will work. Insects slow down significantly with temperature drop, wait for the coolest day of the week and early in the morning go out and eradicate them. Watch out though, nothing is assured.

I would try to just knock it down with a stick. I don't think you really have to worry about the bees at this time of year, unless you are in a warm climate. Good Luck !

I even have been utilising Nokia Lumia 710 and actually have a Samsung Galaxy S3. In any OS whether or not it somewhat is homestead windows, Linux, mac, or Android, in case you install many apps+video games then ofcourse it somewhat is going to slower the functioning velocity of the equipment. yet in my opinion i think that samsung galaxy s3 turns into lots slower , infact any android device turns into lots slower while in comparison with homestead windows device
