I know what you are going through. When I discovered Yahoo Answers I spent two solids days on it. It is very addictive but fun and I feel good about myself when I think I have helped someone. Print this question out along with the answers, place it in a white envelope addressed to "Yahoo Answers" and prop it on her keyboard where she is sure to see it. Here is my advice: Family first Love...... Tell her that she needs to limit her time on this site. Now I go days without being on it but it is like visiting with an old friend when I do sign in. Try answering questions together. At least you would be spending time together.

Her intentions are to be commended, but I think her energy could be used to a more worthwhile endeavor.....if she REALLY wants to save the world, as she claims. Like donating to the homeless, etc. OR is this just an excuse to pacify you ??

Is she communicating with other males/females online.... or are you sure she is just in this forum ? It sounds to me like this is not the case. I cannot see myself being in here 10+ hours daily answering questions. But then again, I never have done drugs or smoke either.

Bottom Line : It is hurting your family, as you say.
Make some rules up to curb her activities, or disconnect the PC.
Otherwise, it will only get worse.

While she is saving the world, you could come and visit me.....

Seriously, I would talk to her about this and maybe work out a compromise. She sounds like a sensitive and caring lady, and that is something to be greatful for...Also, if she just started this, it is addicting, it will wear off for the most part and you will have her back.

hey!
stop been so selfish! if she is enjoying something or having sometime off she is on her own right!, I guess its time for you to stop watching sports on tv and do some little house job yourself!
jiji just kidding.. but seriously., give her a brake, she will get tired eventually, I know it can be annoying not to be payed attention but just remember that maybe you could have done the same thing in the past with any other hobby..

it's a funny thing.. everyone on here feels they can help others while they ignore their own life. perhaps it's easier to solve others problems when you're not a part of it. it's a weird thing.. lol.
Try emailing her with YOUR problem. She might get the idea

Give her a reason to stop. Give her the opportunity to save your world and she might be up for it.

Sounds like she uses the computer to escape from reality, like gambling, drinking, etc. You need to get some counseling, go yourself, even if she refuses to accompany you...good luck

She is obviously #1 in your life and you don't seem to like her helping others. Is there something wrong with that?

Put on a pair of her panites and a bra and parade around the room.
