The organ, which lies in the brain box, (cranium) is called the brain. There is an area in the brain called cerebral hemispheres. This area is the center of intelligence, memory, emotion, and voluntary action. Overlying this part is the cerebral cortex, which is the most developed part in man, and hence man is the most intelligent creature. I would tend to think that this part is called mind. But this area receives the input from all other parts of the brain, and the whole body. Myriads of neuronal networks are there and they get reoriented depending upon the experience and knowledge gained by a person. Once the network gets established this determines the overall attitude. Again, the formation of primary network is the handiwork of genetic endowment. Therefore mind is a complex phenomenon constantly in flux, not the whole of it changes, though. Mind of each individual is different at a certain level. The seat of consciousness lies close to the brain stem.

Any carbon based life form will respond to positive sources of food .
Please note, I do not believe that dolphins in the wild respond to human training to do tricks , only those held in captivity and supplied with food .
