I don't get why they loved him and Hate Bush.JFK is the one who made Cuba what it is.He was more or lees responsible for the lack of trade and travel and nearly started a nuclear conflict over it.It was his administration that drew up the North woods plan that all the Dems are saying Bush used.He is also the one who got us into Vietnam. All of this in a mere two and a half years. If the man had not been assassinated we would have been in a nuclear conflict within another. He was also known to be a methamphetamine user.

You probably did not live during his era. I did and I met him once in Wisconsin. The man had Charisma with a capital C. He was at ease with all people and emitted a confidence that few have the gift of giving. He was intelligent and aware. He knew what he was talking about. He INSPIRED people. And the whole world was at his feet. Never before or since was the US prestige any higher than during his administration. Exactly the opposite from today.
I was in Europe on a trip when the news on TV had his picture in a public place in France. The crowd, much to my amazement stood up and cheered! Bush would be spat upon today, to say the least.
Now you know something about JFK
If that ain't enough, I could write a book and send it to you.

Kennedy was a war hero. PT 109 relates the courage of John F. Kennedy during World War II, saving his crew when they were stranded in the South Pacific after their PT boat was rammed by a Japanese warship. JFK's administration was called Camelot for a reason. "Ask not what your country can do for you, but what you can do for your country". JFK was a uniter, not a divider like Bush.

If you have to ask you probably weren't alive when he was President. I'll sum it up for you in two words why people loved JFK....optimism, hope. That is what he gave to America and probably why he was killed.

He paid the ultimate price. He died on the job for his country. People still appreciate that.
I agree that his accomplishments were minimal. He did win in a showdown with the USSR, during the Cuban missle crisis.

Besides being good looking and a nice dresser, he had charisma, and radiated an aura of optimism. Having the misfortune of being assassinated halted the process of examining his accomplishments and failures unemotionally.

The JFK lovers are speculating about what he would have accomplished had he not been assassinated, It might work for Bush too, but we'll have to wait til after the shooting to see, I guess....

First President to fight for Civil Rights. You wouldn't understand because you're not African American...BTW, I'm not either. Try living in a world where people hate you. It would suck, huh?

There's a lot of truth to your opinion, as JFK's actual political accomplishments were pretty minimal. His popularity, it seems to me stems from the fact that he was young and handsome and charismatic--a perfect symbol for the transitional era of the early 1960s.

Well you would swap JFK for bush in a heartbeat.

(hows that for starters).
