Gas is 2.40 in MA. I believe it is cheaper to still drive tho.

Greyhound bus is $165.50 one way from Raleigh to Topeka.

It's 1160 miles from Raleigh to Topeka. At $2.25 a gallon, and getting 20 miles to the gallon, it would take 58 gallons to make the trip at a cost of $130.50

Walking would be the cheapest way. Or if time is an issue, taking a bus might be a bit more realistic.

Busses and trains are cheap. If multiple people are going in different cars you can all carpool and split the gas money.

BTW, if you think about $2.30 a gallon is expensive, come to Europe where at the moment is not quite $6.00 a GALLON.

hitchhike...dangerous but cheap...seriously rideshare if you can find someone to pay or perhaps the hound. sit back and leave the driving to them.
