No, he's a selfish little oik. (Just ask Notts what they think of him there!) He won't be missed from the dressing room once he no longer is able to hold down a place in the side, and you can bet he won't be taken on a future tour if he isn't guaranteed a starting place.
The really good example of a team player is Collingwood, someone who puts the team before himself and gives all he has all the time (even if, as I admit, it's less than Pietersen could potentially provide if he was so minded).

What is your definition of a team player? One who brings drinks on the field is a team player? I think Peterson justifies his place in the team better than any one in the team. Success is a selfish thing than he is not a team player.

if you look at it, a more reasonable thing to ask would be
"are the english a kevin pieterson team".
to be more precise, for anyone to suggest that kevin pietersen does not play for the team, they would have to be fools who do not know much about human relations and culture or team dynamics.
in fact kevin pietersen is the only player who plays for the team while the rest are all quivering against the might of the aussies.

Peitersen is the only player on the england squad who has a go at the aussies, where as everybody else is scared to play shots. Monty Panesar was scoring better in batting than our top order, which proves a point.

Pom baiting. thats what Buchanan is doing!..No doubt remembering all the English comments coming out of the MCC by Sir Miles Pastitt, Lord Delpus and Lady table about 'Dads army"..Right now this lot are sitting in the MCC, guzzling G and T's and crying.."Disgraceful stuff!..Bring back Cowdrey and Barrington they should stop the rot ol' boy!..And whose this fellow Peters son?..I never heard of the fellow!..Not a team player?..Why he must be a cad and a bounder sir!..Bring back Bedser and Godfrey, are they still playing ol' boy, 'hic' "..So lets keep baiting the poms, until its their turn to do it to us again!
