What do you think about the sri lankan cricket and cricketers?where do they stand.....?

What do you think about them?Where do they stand in the international level?How do you compare their players with the players of other countries?Are there any chances 4 them to win the world cup?

Sri Lankans are to cricket what Spain are to football.
They are neither the best nor are they very bad (compared to India).
They lack the consistency or the incisive precision of the Australians which prevents them from reaching their potential.
Players like Attapattu and Jayawardane are very talented, classy players but bad patches have prevented them from reaching the status of a Ricky Ponting or Brian Lara.
The only player(batting) who is comparable to the best and can be called world class is Sangakarra. He is second only to Adam Gilchrist.
Now bowling wise I think Murali's stats speak for themselves.
Shane Warne himself said that Murali looks like the only bowler who can reach 1000 test wickets. But unfortunately his success will always be overshadowed by the controversy regarding his bowling action.
There are some players with potential like Dilshan, Mahroof and Malinga but unfortunately not of the level of a Kevin Pietersen or Mike Hussey.
Thus:
Batting- 7/10
Bowling- 8.5/10
Fielding- 8/10
Overall (not an average)- 7.5/10

The present Sri Lankan Cricket Team is a very well balanced team and they can beat any team in the world on their day.
They are also a strong contender for the World Cup

they have improved with their new attacking attitude under Tom Moody and i rate them as them equal chances with pakistan, behind australia of course, of winnig the world cup. Vaas, Murali and Malinga is a strong attack, and Jayasuria, Tharanga, and Jayawardene are a strong top 3, and of course sangakarra is world class.
