With the exception of the fact that the war was won in a few days that's more or less true but rather slanted. How many of those dead were carrying weapons?

A more honest statement would be that after the war was over re-establishing a civilian government has been a nightmare. In the end, and hopefully soon, the Iraqis will be running their own country with no further help from anybody. They already have a freely elected government and are rebuilding their police forces. What would you rather see?

And in the end, we were attacked. Perhaps you can sit on your tail end while thousands of your coutrymen are killed but I won't. I can't even begin to describe the contempt I hold somebody who would not fight back when attacked.

I can't believe there are still Americans who believe that we attacked Iraq because of 9/11. We attacked Iraq to control its oil, and so that private industries could strip the dollars out of American taxpayers pockets with huge military contracts (Halliburton etc) period. When you way "America" you are making a mistaken assumption that all Americans are in agreement. Don't you realize that, by now, most Americans are blaming Bush for his failed war? The different religious/ethnic groups in the region need to work it out among themselves and we Americans should cut our losses, admit we made a mistake and get out. Saddam may have been an evil dictator but did we Americans not actually cause many more deaths than he would have caused to his own people, including deaths of our own (3000 Americans soldiers dead now)? Why Saddam and not other evil dictators in this world (Darfur, Haiti, Chile, the Balkans, etc)? Why? Because those countries don't have oil. What is grossly under-reported in America is the great number of civilian professional Iraqis who have fled the country because of destruction of its infrastructure and fear for their lives. These are the very people who would have rebuilt a healthy thriving Iraq, but now their country is in a shambles and destroyed. We caused the worst foreign policy disaster in the history of our country.

Hey European where are you getting your info. That's the first for me hearing about AmeriCans blaming Iran or Iraq. Americans were right to get Sadam out of being their country's leader, or else there may have been hundreds of millions of dead women, men, and children. Sometimes people need to make a conscious choice of doing the right thing even if it means they have to sacrifice time from their self-absorbed desires.

I think there's plenty of blame to go around. Why aren'y you asking why Iraqis are still murdering each other by the score? You don't have to be a rocket scientist to see that Iran would like to see a destabilized Iraq. Their in it up to thier chin. And let's not forget the Saudis supplying the Sunnis as well. Personally I don't think there's ONE person over there worth ANY American or European blood AT ALL.

Seems to me there were lots of people being killed in Iraq long before we were there. Also, if you browse the questions/answers here, you'll see that most Americans are blaming Bush. Where are you getting your info?

disagree.

Muslims in the middle east are by and large too fanatical about religion to ever be peaceful people. Sunni's, Shiites and Kurds are all more loyal to their own ethnic tribes than to the country they live in. That is the root of the problem. They cannot see past their own noses in order to coexist peacefully. All they know how to do is scream religious zealot nonsense back and forth to each other and kill the very people who are trying to help them.
