I have been sentence to one year and I have spent one month in county jail before sentencing, does that time apply to my prison time?

Your presentence report, probably done by the probation department, might have recommended that the time you spent in jail be applied toward your DOC time. Read the paperwork you received before sentencing at at sentencing to see if the time spent in jail is addressed. If not, talk to your attorney.

When you get to prison, you will first be in reception for several weeks. This is when your time is calculated (credits given to time already served etc) and you may or may not stay at that prison.

most likely yes. The Judge has to sign off on that, without his say so you will have to do it solo.
