usually BC starts working after a week. and with all of your other protection i'd say you should be good. the fact is, though, even BC with a condom etc. is not 100 percent and you seem really worried about this. You can't take Emergency contraception every time you have sex. And it'd get expensive anyway. Maybe you should save it incase a condom breaks or slips off. Either way, I'm sure you know theres always a chance of pregnancy and youve chosen to be as respnosible as possible so good for you. check the website for her brand of BC but like i said, most are a week (I THINK - ALL THAT I HAVE TAKEN ARE) Also, when youre that worried about preganancy and using a condom and pulling out and stressing, sex isnt going to be as enjoyable...well, i guess maybe for a teenage boy. I'm certainly not telling you not to do all of those things but maybe stick with the not getting pregnant ways of intimacy until you are a little more well equipped to handle the consequences.

It takes the birth control pill a whole month to take effect. Even though she has been taking them everyday they are not 100 percent effective until she is done with the first pack.
She can take an at home test 19 days from now and get an accurate result.

I wouldn't worry TOO much, but it's diffenately a concern. Most doctor will tell you to finish off a while months worth of pills before having unprotected sex. One week may or may not be suffecient. Go to the pharmacy, buy a big box of condoms and use them, for the next 21 days. She should continue to take her pill everyday. After that, have fun.

When started within 6 days of the start of a period or within 6 days after an abortion, The Pill is effective immediately. If the Pill is started at other times, it will be effective after one month. To lower the risk of pregnancy and sexually transmitted infections, condoms can be used while taking The Pill.

soo, start doing your math!- dd

yes. birth control is not 100% effective and typically a doctor will advise not to have sex for 30 days after starting because the pill normally doesnt take full effect for a month. the pill has to raise levels of the pregnancy hormone to convince the body its pregnant so it cant get pregnant "again" and this process usually doesnt happen overnight.

Yes, that's not long enough for the pill to be effective. I believe its 30 days or longer. The doctor would've told her this. Ask her.

Yes you should worry. It takes thirty plus days for the pills to kick in.

Thirty days, hon. You're not in that safe zone, yet. Use a condom until that first pack of pills is gone.

Worry... Not sure if you should worry. Know that any unprotected sex and even protected sex is not foolproof. If your old enough to play, then be sure you are ready to pay the fiddler. ( You must be responsible for your actions at all times.)

I don't know the exact length they take to go into effect but I would say you probably should have waited until she finished her first month of pills.
