Happiness, as they say, is a state of being and I believe it also has levels. One can be happy, happier or happiest...For me, even small things that go as I expected or wished makes me happy while unexpected miracles make me extremely happy.
What you do could indeed make you happy but it depends on what you do and how you view your deed.

Each person defines "happiness" for themselves. What makes me happy might make you sad. It could however turn out that the exact thing that made you happy at some point in the past would make you sad now or in the future. Therefore, as a basis, happiness is a state of being contented with a particular situation at a particular time.

Its an end goal for your life. Being content with things at different parts of you life is not the same thing as being happy. Enjoy moments of bliss, work through bad times and you may have a "happy" life when you add up the score as it ends

Happiness is basically a state of mind. It is being one with your heart and brain. It is basically like a meditation peace. Going away from the whole "meditation" thing, you can find happiness in your family, friends, or game. Sudoko always helps, and so does hanging out at the mall, provided you buy nothing just for the heck of it.

Personally, to be selfless. What make me happy? Everytime, I do something creative that is unique, a painting, drawing, a poem. Yes, I do find true happiness on what I do.

In the 1960's, Charles Schulz wrote a book stating that "Happiness is a Warm Puppy."
In the musical, "You're a Good Man, Charlie Brown," The song "Happiness" describes happiness as the following:
HAPPINESS IS FINDING A PENCIL.
PIZZA WITH SAUSAGE
TELLING THE TIME.
HAPPINESS IS LEARNING TO WHISTLE.
TYING YOUR SHOE FOR THE VERY FIRST TIME.
HAPPINESS IS PLAYING THE DRUM IN YOUR OWN SCHOOL BAND.
AND HAPPINESS IS WALKING HAND IN HAND.
HAPPINESS IS TWO KINDS OF ICE CREAM.
KNOWING A SECRET.
CLIMBING A TREE.
HAPPINESS IS FIVE DIFFERENT CRAYONS.
CATCHING A FIREFLY.
SETTING HIM FREE.
HAPPINESS IS BEING ALONE EVERY NOW AND THEN.
AND HAPPINESS IS COMING HOME AGAIN.
HAPPINESS IS MORNING AND EVENING,
DAY TIME AND NIGHT TIME TOO.
FOR HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING AT ALL
THAT'S LOVED BY YOU.
HAPPINESS IS HAVING A SISTER.
SHARING A SANDWICH.
GETTING ALONG.
HAPPINESS IS SINGING TOGETHER WHEN DAY IS THROUGH,
AND HAPPINESS IS THOSE WHO SING WITH YOU.
HAPPINESS IS MORNING AND EVENING,
DAYTIME AND NIGHTTIME TOO.
FOR HAPPINESS IS ANYONE AND ANYTHING AT ALL
THAT'S LOVED BY YOU.

Happiness is an illusion that I had for a time. No, I'm not happy. I really wish I could be.

my niece personifies all that is happiness to me ...
she has lost quite a bit of her hearing, she's only 4, now she doesn't understand yet how mean the big bad world can be when you have a disability ... as far as she's concerned, she can get away with all the naughty things she does because she can "choose" not to hear you when you're screaming at her :-D
she is joy!
kids are amazing ... and are all that is pure, non-discriminating, innocent .....
