i'm a huge fan of Spain, and it's my greatest wish that they become champions (for once at least!)..the most spain reached was 4th place (in 1950, in the world cup of course), and it would be great if spain won the Euro 2008, but sadly until now spain is almost last in it's group and it's 8 points behind Sweden (who have 12 points)...Spain lost 0-2 vs. Sweden and 2-3 vs. Northern Ireland which is a very bad start (although there was a 4-0 win over leteinshtein).

i would say if they get rid of the coach it would be great, he's not good anymore, he recruits the wrong players and leaves behind the great players...

happy new year to you too :)

They could be world champions in the future.... but I think that future is kinda far. As for now, only former world champions will win the World Cup in a near future. And about Spain in the Euro 2008... they'll get pretty far, maybe quarter-finals or probably semi-finals. But they'll be eliminated before they reach the gold. Even so, Spain is a good team. Oh and actually they did make it to round of 16. But then they were eliminated by France.

Spain will not become World Champions soon and I hope they qualifies at EURO 2008.

Is the first part a question of do we think they will? Obviously they can. Soccer's such a great sport in that way. It's much the same as the NHL is right now but with less scoring so every goal is so crucial. My question is when are the US ever going to field a team that gets some penetration into the later rounds?

I think they have a fair chance of becoming a world champion, but I don't think they will stand a chance against Italy in 2008.

You know, Spain is always touted as early exits or early impressers but late failures... as of now, that may be true. But, looking at their talent now and fo the future, it is limitless. Andres Iniesta and Cesc Fabregas are a dream pair in midfield when they get older. Fernando Torres needs to be more consistent. As for the defence, they need to beef up. The right and left flanks need improvement. Puyol should have a better center half partner if they want to win. As always, Casillas is solid, but needs to be a bit more level-headed.

SPAIN are in danger of missing out on qualification for the 2008 UEFA European Championship finals as SWEDEN & DENMARK are in good form in Group F. i hope that they will qualify but i don't think they will do well in the big stage.

Of course they have some world class players. I think they can make it to the finals if they can get their head in the game.
