In Maine, stink bugs just show up on the floor, where are they coming from? How do I get rid of them? Help
My sister was here (she lives in NH) one day and called them stink bugs. I have lived in Maine all of my 50yrs and have not seen these before our temp is always changing. How do these stink bugs get into my home? How can I check where they are coming from? When I see one on the floor I can just grab a paper towel and pick them up, so they don’t run and hide, they just sit there until I pick them up. But where the heck are they coming from? What do they eat? How do they get into my house? They are awful looking with a flat body and skinny legs w/long thinks coming from there head, when you do kill one they stink so bad. Help with the stink bug problem in Maine. I have never seen them until this winter season?

Well, you could try spraying something like Home Defense around the areas where they are most likely to come in the house. If they are in the walls, you'll need an exterminator if they'll come do a wall pest spray of some sort. Not sure what to do about this pest other than call Pest man and see what they can do. Depends on the bug though. You could hand pick them by using gloves and putting them in a paperbag or something then tossing them in the trash or back outside.
They overwinter wherever they can find that is warm enough which could be your home. Not much you can do about them organically except use an organic spray which kills other pests preferably one with an oil in it to smother them. It won't keep them out though.

the only way to get rid of them are to use bug poisoin or spray.
