Hematuria or microscopic blood in the urine is normal especially during menstruation. Probably, you just had some vaginal or meatus ( where urine comes out) injury. . This is true if you hadn't had sex for sometime. Or if the guy is unusually big. But to have macroscopic blood in the urine (visible) is not normal. It is a sign of some urinary tract infection. Try to see a doctor for some antibiotics. Urinary tract infections are common among women because of the anatomical positions and proximity of our vaginas and anal orifices. Just try to cautiously and thoroughly clean or douche post coitus, and post making a bowel movement. So perineal hygiene is important.
The first time I experienced hematuria, I thought I was going to die. I was in excruciating pain. The toilet bowl was loaded with blood. Bleeding persisted. The doctor suspected kidney stones and immediately performed a cystoscopy. This procedure is to look at the urethra, ureters, and the kidneys. I didn't have kidney stones; just a urinary tract infection or UTI as it's called. Septra was prescribed.. I discovered I was allergic to sulfas. Thereafter, the antibiotic, Cipro was prescribed which immediately cleared up the infection.

It is not something related to having sex.
Blood in the urine is called as hematuria and it is not a serious problem though. It might be due to a problem in the urinary tract which consists of Kidneys, ureters, bladder, and urethra.
A trace amount of blood in your urine is normal. Blood in the urine can come from any condition that results in infection, inflammation or injury to the urinary system.
One of the causes of blood in the urine are Kidney stones. Urine can be colored pink, red or brown because of the food we consume, like beets, berries, etc in large quantity or having some food which has food coloring. It can even be menstrual blood also.
If you see blood in the urine along with symptoms of fever and flank pain, then you should be seeking medical help.
If you have not experience the above things, then there is nothing to worry about!

This is called spotting and can be common in women resuming sexual activity. I suggest you make sure that you are actually passing blood in the urine and not from the vaginal area whilst urinating. You need to see a doctor and have a MSSU which is a micro specimen of urine tested for blood.
Blood in the urine is serious in most cases. But I suspect yours is not actally in the urine. However your doctor can detrmine that for you easier than a forum like this.
Vaginal trauma in sex is not uncommon,( even in women having regular sex) it depends on the vigorous activity undertaken and the condition of the vagina at time of penetration. were you properly lubricated. Was there pain during intercourse etc.? Discuss with physician its your best option

No it is not normal but it is very common. You probably have developed a urinary tract infection and need to be on antibiotics. If you cannot afford to go to the doctor to get antibiotics you can get some over the counter remedies that are usually in the same place where the tampons are kept. Also, until the symptoms are gone make sure that you cut out your soda intake and drink as much water as you can to help flush out your kidneys and bladder.
