It's a short, very intense high that just makes you feel really goofy and really lightheaded and sick to your stomach. Like many other substances, the first high is the best, and you want to have it again and again, but you never get as good a one the second or third or ninety-ninth time.

The other, more important effect of huffing anything is that it causes a lot of problems, including permanent brain damage. You are introducing a toxic chemical into your bloodstream, and it has all sorts of bad effects not just on your brain but on your lungs, liver and kidneys, as well.

Please trust me on this--it isn't worth it. You feel goofy for about 3 minutes, and sick to your stomach the rest of the day. If you keep doing it, you get addicted. It just really isn't worth even trying it out of curiosity.

Lighter fluid, like gasoline, model airplane glue, paint thinner, varnish, nail polish remover, and even some types of cover-up products, are members of the organic solvent, or volatile organic compound (VOC), family. Like the effects of low-dose anesthesia, the pungent fumes of these chemicals produce a lightheaded and hot feeling. Because of their toxicity, organic solvents can also lead to dizziness and nausea. Many heavy solvent sniffers report altered states of consciousness, complete with visual hallucinations and vivid dreamlike experiences while awake.

I once saw a guy who had spent a lot of time huffing. He was cleaning windshields for cars stopped in traffic. He'd killed so many brain cells that he was drooling.

Not worth the high.

it will turn you into a drooling, brain-dead idiot with the iq of a rock...if it doesn't kill you. i have never tried it...but then i don't want to live in a filthy cardboard box, begging for food and going through garbage cans for empty aerosol containers...huffing just is not a good idea...couldn't you just have a beer?

Hope you haven't tried it. It'll give you a rip roaring head ache; one that you'll never recover from. A sure fire way to self destruct and short out your brain. What's up with you that you need to be so curious about such a deadly activity?

if you start like 2 or 3 times a week, in 2 or 3 years no one will want to be around you and you will have lost all your friends and loved ones. if you want to be a success and really be happy QUIT all the drugs now. life woman. Live... Bobby

Another possible effect is a startle response that leads to paranoid running with potential for cardiac arrest and collapse/death. Breath smells like chemical puke.

It kills brain cells and gives all the fun effects associated with a damaged brain.
