Are our American troops seen as "terrorists" by the Iraqis?
Are Americans seen as "terrorists" by Muslims?

How can we have a War on Terror, when "terror" is an emotion? Can we fight fear?

Back in the 70s there was an "energy crisis". Things were so bad that Nixon asked us not to put up outside Christmas lights. Suddenly everyone seemed to realize that oil was a finite energy source, and that we'd better find alternatives. (Well, you see how well that worked...)
Anyway, there was talk about taking the oil--via fighting "the Arabs"--by force, because the American people "needed" it.
I said, at the time, how could we possibly justify "taking" it? The Arabs "owned" it (as much as any people "own" something because they live on it, or in it, or over it...) I couldn't believe that we would actually consider war for a commodity. I thought I was sophisticated in the ways of the world then. How naive was I????????

This is a good question, and not so easy to answer, at least not out in the open.
I will say this, if the terrorist, know fear they will fade into the back ground, the key is to flush them out even if they are on the down low.

I haven't seen any reports on what iraqi citizens believe in regard to our occupation. If I was an Iraqi I want to believe that I would see this as Americans humanitarian efforts?!?! If you weren't Sunni or a member of the Ba'ath Party Saddam seemed to regard you as sub-human and worth no significance. Hell the man even killed like 40 members of his own family!! I guess I don't understand why any citizen wouldn't be relieved.
As far as the motivation of the Bush administration waging war now? Money...money,money,money, money, money, money...
MONEY! Don't kid yourself.
The truly sad thing is that because of the Automobile industries and the Oil industries stronghold on our economy and politicians loyalties the deterioration of our environment will continue. I doesn't take a genius to realize and understand our governing body know why our environment is suffering. Scientist have told them so. Special interest groups and big money keep the blinders on even when common sense tells them otherwise. We have the technology to build cars that get better gas milage... cars that run on electric and hydro-power we don't need to exhaust fossil fuels. "Stay the course" isn't working on many levels.
Hopefully our next president will have a greater broader sense of what is best for our survival not just his finances.
If president Bush really was just fighting a war on terrorists why hasn't Bin Laden been arrested yet? They know where he is ...

The war of Terror is about Oil, not Terrorism. The reason the Americans are in Iraq is because George Bush wants to instill a Democratic Government in Iraq that will open oil trades for the US. Anyone that says otherwise is a liar or a fool.

It has nothing to do with terrorism, as there was no 9/11 connection to Iraq, nor did Saddam Husseim have any connections to Al Qeada or Osama bin Laden. But Bush (or more likely, Chaney and Rove) knew that most Americans are utterly pig-ignorant of international affairs and would lump together all Middle Eastern nations are terrorist simply by virtue of their being Muslim. Since Americans have a strong xenophobic streak to begin with and American is a predominantly Christian (i.e. anti-Muslim) society, they figured that Americans would snap at their bait. And they were right. Unfortunately, all this invasion has done is to convince Muslims worldwide that Americans are anti-Muslim and determined to stamp out their existence. In other words, we are indeed the terrorists as we invaded their country (Iraq) on false pretensions, slaughtered countless thousands of innocents and pretended that we were doing it for their own good (instead of for oil and geopolitical dominance). They can see through the facade, just as we Americans would be able to see (well, some of us anyway) through the facade if a foreign power/religion were to invade our country, slaughter countless thousands of American civilians and pretend that it was all for our own good.

I don't care much what they think over there, but I take your point. Since they see the US as terrorists then the assertion that the US is there for a war on terroristm is pretty much satisfied. Good job! Now I definately support a 400% increase in funding and troop commitment.

Nothing.

The entire war on terror has nothing to do with fighting terror.

You can't fight a response to an emotion with weapons.
