It means can I offer you a ride home.

Another way of saying it is, "would you like me to drive you to your home in my automobile?"

It doesn't mean the person is asking to carry you in their arms home. It means the person will give you a ride in a car, motorcycle, or bicycle; most likely, a car.

USUALLY it means the person is offering to give a ride to your home.

Of course there are people who will deliberately "misunderstand' to their advantage.

The person is offering to give you a ride. (Don't accept a ride from someone you don't know or trust!)

It is an expression. It means something like this: "May I provide you with transportation in my vehicle to your home?"
