Is it just me or should we start using a system Iraq uses in life or death cases? Sadaam was convicted and executed in a six month period while we have convicted killers on death row for 20 years going through appeal after appeal. When there is overwhelming evidence of wrong doing why do we allow low life lawyers to drag out the inevitable and cost our tax payers millions of dollars holding prisoners year after year they should have already killed?

In some states, it's a matter of whether the court determines whether or not the method to put someone to death is "cruel and unusual punishment". That debate still goes on, even in California where the punishment of death has been frozen because someone actually "suffered" by lethal injection. In some cases, murderers were sentenced to life imprisonment before we had an active death penalty. In other cases, innocents and even retarded prisoners have been executed. Unfortunately, we have to be very certain of all the cases that end up on death row. We hear stories all the time of prisoners being set free after years in prison because of new evidence, DNA samples, are because of some other reason that crops up. It's up to the states and the governors to determine the call along the lines of the US judicial system and rulings of the Supreme Court.

As for the Iraqi judicial system, it's in the process of changing since Saddam and his cronies made most of or all of the calls. There was no judicial system. Now, it seems they are trying to organize one, but look at their country now?

Perhaps you should aim your question to the innocent person that gets acquited every so often for a crime that he or she has been accused of.Sometimes life is not black and white.Let me ask you this.Would you be willing to be the executioner and bear the burden of doubt?

I hate to declare this, yet I accept as true with commanderbuck. when you consider that they at the instant are not US or Iraqi forces, they could be exterior agitators. when you consider that they have bigger sick-will in the direction of the U. S. Troops, deliver them after the different exterior agitators. enable the U. S. Troops look after the U. S. officers the place this is safer. enable them to come again back whilst their undertaking is performed.
