ya agree with everyone asking same question " where can i find the camera phone recording". Everyone loses 10 points and sometimes more for each question asked. WOW alot of points if we added everyones questions up that are same.
Anyhow he did deserve to die but not the way he did. It is disgusting the way Americans are. The govt got all mad when the world seen the truth and now arrest the grateful men who wanted to show the world how this pathetic US Gov. works. I would shake the mans hand who recorded the real deal. Better to see the truth than some news bull that the govt dont want you to see. I mean fine if you dont want to then simply dont watch it or for those who do then rock on. Everyone got own opinions and just different ways to express them. Dunno everyone sees Americans as a so-called "loving and patriotic family". I call that some Bull. Americans as we seen in the footage are pathetic ignorant a holes. He did not need to be tormented with chanting that a 3 year old does or that dam* executioner who danced around the body and bia's in the crowd yelling stupid comments. Ya I dont think anyone would want to listen to that crap before they died.Besides atleast Saddam took it like a man which is more than what I can say for some. The govt gets scared over footage because they know they were at wrong but caught

Did you ever stop and think that maybe it is Therapy and closure for some people for all of the horrible, unspeakable things he has done? Saddam was not OK, he was no better than the Devil in my book. I am not saying that everything should be an eye for an eye, but come on, we needed to know that it was him and that it is over. I am sorry if you feel sorry for him being hanged, I would truly feel like I was sinning and going to go to Hell if I ever felt sorry for the justice being served on a monster like Saddam or Osama! Don't get me wrong, there are sick people out there that get off on watching it and God knows who they are. I am not against the death penalty and at the same time, I know some innocent people have been executed and that part I hate. BUT you show me a sick SOB like Saddam and Osama and oh yeah, you bet your bootie I want them executed! No chance they can escape or find a loophole or still be communicating with there followers to kill thousands more innocent people.
Sorry, a whole other issue there! Anyway, my point being, that even though there are some sickos out there that get off on watching it and that the lady who taped it certainly was out to get something out of it, the existence of the video is probably closure to a whole lot of people. I just try to see it from their eyes!
As far as reaching out to someone in need, I am an active volunteer for many many agencies and I am ALWAYS there for anyone who needs me. Just because I sought out and found the video does not mean I am a horrible, self serving sick minded person who cares nothing about humanity! If you only knew how much I do care!

Whilst I wholeheartedly agree with the sentiments of your letter you must remember that in order to be a democratic society there must be a right for people to freely air their views. We are lucky to have a choice as to whether to watch Saddam being hung or not. He didn't show much love and kindness to the hundreds and thousands of his own people he had put to death did he?
Unfortunately people will watch sickening things, it's human nature (bad) I'm afraid.
I wish people, especially leaders, would show more love, compassion, helpfulness etc. towards one another.
I don't think it's all doom and gloom though, look at the response for Children in Need, and the tsunami appeal for example.
Even if you don't agree with someone else's opinion you must defend the right for them to have that opinion.
Good question Emm. Nice to see a caring person.

no i dont think there was anything wrong in the video being released. its because that we ordinary people could understand the brutality in which the verdict was carried. if we had just relied on the video released by the government of Iraq then this treacherous crime would not have been discovered (how funny to release a video with no voice!!!). this was a crime done that has no justice. no justice system should carryout a judicail verdict this way. they should abide by rules and should display discipline in carrying out a verdict...that s why they train you for the holding such esteemed positions. when you see a soldier, we have respect for him because we see a picture of a person with more than human qualities..its a shame that these people of the law behaved as rogues...
by saying this i dont say saddam was a human in anyway..he was a dictator from all the video clips that had been provided. i have not seen anything that show a human side of his regime. so i dont feel he deserves any better...(i am against death as a penalty, than feeling the guilt and repentence)...
but the way the people in the gallow acted was miserable it has stained ARABS as a whole.
Though i say he is a dictator but he was a very brave Man as compared to all of them that stood there. he faced death as a strong person with no fear he was answering back these teasers witha smile(amazing)...a lot of credit for that...he was a leader but was ruthless as a ruler according all the reports and the records that we have seen..but if the current iraqi government was a sensible government they would not have done such unjustifiable act. they would have taken utmost care in carrying out this such a crucial act on which lied the entire country's future. unmistakably a foolish act which now is being paid by innocent lives....one man's life(an old not so worth life) by very very precious citizens young and old.

I agree. It was a sordid and grisly spectacle, watched by equally sick and sordid people. I don't believe in Capitol punishment, but in any event, it was totally unnecessary to film it or to be witnessed by so many disgusting animals. By contrast to them, Saddam showed courage and dignity. They, and the voyeurs who still want to watch it, should be thoroughly ashamed of themselves. They display all the depravity that they accuse Saddam of possessing. Such scenes brutalise the human spirit and make one a little more immune to the sufferings of others. 'Dancing with the devil' I think they call it. The 'State' should do things with a lot more dignity and show some respect for the final moments of the condemned.
People create their own leaders, just as we have done in Britain. Saddam wasn't brought up in gentle suburbia; he was a product of a deeply divided and factional Iraq, and ironically, seemed like the only kind of leader who could keep control in such a hostile environment. Look at the mess it is in now. Will it take another Saddam to restore order. Remember, the people deserve the leader they get. Saddam's' death will have set those factions even further apart.
One final point. At the time of the first invasion of Iraq, Saddam had already committed most of his dastardly deeds, and yet, the UN did not give permission to invade Iraq to remove Saddam on a change of regime mission. Also, at that time, there was no worldwide objection to the attacks on Iraq. So, if Saddam was fit for continued office then, what did he do to change the Wests attitude toward him.

Wow. Someone needs to grow up.
You are being very predjudice and judgemental. You only see this issue from one angle and blind to other's perspective. You bash anyone who doesn't agree with you. You are the one who needs to "Wake up and do something about it"
You statement is hurtful to some. People want to see the execution for personal reasons. Who are you to judge them? Who are you to say that they collectively view it as "entertainment." Yes, there are few out there who fall into this catagory, but not all.
This is history. This is our world. We all have the right to witness it as we individually see fit.
I hope that you see that your attitude is also the source of pain in the world. Many of us do not find you entertaining either.

Hi. Thankyou so much for asking this. I agree fully with you. I am on your side. If anyone thinks you are doing wrong my asking this, they have to face me first. No one gets passed Overload except you! LOL! I know Saddam has done terrible things. He deserved death but not on a religious day. They killed him on a religious day. Did you hear on the news how a dirty American Soldier stamped his feet on the Muslim Holy Book. I hope he dies a painful death! Muslim people are getting a bad reputation now. We are not all the same so be fair!!

The last minutes of Saddam Hussein
Saddam (as the noose is put around his neck): Ya Allah (Oh God).
Someone in the audience: Mercy be on those who pray for Mohammed and the household of Mohammed (Everyone repeats the prayer, including Saddam)
Executioner and two people in the audience: And hasten his return (the Mahdi), curse his enemy and grant victory to his son, Muqtada, Muqtada, Muqtada! (This is a common Sadrist chant.)
Saddam (smirking): Muqtada?
NSA Muwafaq Al-Rubai'i: To Hell!
Saddam: (laughing)
Prosecutor Munqidh Al-Far'awn: Please, no.
Muwafaq Al-Rubi'i: Longlive Mohammad Baqir Al-Sadr!
Someone in the audience: To Hell!
Saddam (solemnly recites the Shahada prayer): I witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Mohammed is the messenger of Allah. I witness that there is no god but Allah, and that Mohammed is the- (trap door is opened).
Audience: Prayers for Mohammed and the household of Mohammad.
Someone: The tyrant has fell. May Allah's curse be upon him.
Someone: No. No. Stay back.
Someone: Leave him for 8 minutes. Don't take him down.
Someone: Everyone. Stay back.

Ivri, you left out the part where Saddam said to the abusive crowd "you are not man enough like Arabs".
Veritas, he did nothing wrong that you saw actually with your own eyes. We all watch media too much and hear about UN too much. In Islam there is a Prophet (sa) saying that unless you see or hear it yourself, don't believe it.
Emm, Martyrdom of someone like Saddam (ra) who stands up against USA, Israel and other evil armies and give them a crushing defeat is very much in high demand. Why people demand it so much? Because they were all blinded with media and wanted to see WHO is this person who has been portrayed so much evil by the US/Israeli media. And when they saw the video, they saw nothing but an old man aged 69 smilining embracing martyrdom. We Muslims don't consider martyrdom as death as non-Muslims believe. We consider martyrdom as eternal LIFE, hence true Muslims are always looking for martyrdom.
For more info, please review a little article I wrote about his smile before being martyred.
How can Saddam (Rehmatullah) embrace martyrdom with smile?
Just before 3 seconds of his hanging and the knot around his neck, when some Shia Muslims in front of him were abusing him, he was smiling and answering all of the abuses of the whole crowd instead of fearing death just a few seconds away from him. In the noise of abuses, he recited the Shahadah and Kalma, but before he could finish his kalma, he was hanged brutally. Those 3 seconds just changed a lot around him. And I used to wonder how are legends and heroes made? And I saw this with my own eyes with an utter dis-belief with the kind of bravery and calmness a hero embraces death.
When I dug deep behind his smiles and inside Quran which he believed true, I saw a verse saying "And those who die in the path of Allah, don't call them dead as they are alive and eating, but you don't have enough power to see them alive". In the due course, I suddenly realized that he became alive inside me as my hero. Someone who is thousands of miles away, have never met me and I have heard nothing but media propaganda against him, how can only 3 seconds change him from ZERO to HERO? I realized the difference lies in the bravery and the kind of calmness that Islam gives to its followers without any fear of death.
Muslims are supposed to look deep into the eyes of death with the kind of smile that death itself is frightened. And here I remember the saying of a great leader of Indian Muslims Mr.Tipu Sultan that ONE day of life of a brave lion is better than 100 years of life of a coward jackal. How many more Saddams will be needed to awaken the Muslim Ummah from sleep? I believe none as if those who can't awaken now they are better sleeping and dead as cowards. Let them sleep and let the brave Muslims enjoy this brief stay in this world by looking deep down the eyes of Gun fire, Missiles, Aeroplanes, Nukes, and whatever ways evil created to bring fear amongst its enemies. But Good will always prevail and Evil is the one that was, is and will be damned forever.
His last words to the abusive crowd in front of him were "You are not man enough". Long live human decency, bravery, intelligence and the power to reason!!!

enjoying people in pain has been part of humman nature since prehistoric times. Most people believe that dues to the fact he was in charge of killing over 300,000 people it was a good thing he was killed. The reason why people want to see it is because, seeing is believing to many
