No not really. Well, its actually useful cause we learn something new in news or stuff like that... Well T.V could be harmful for us if we spend our time too much on that. This could be a disraction in doing our homework, chores, etc. Cartoons could be also harmful for us because some people copy them. Like some cartoon character holds an umbrella and jumps on the window, they do it to. This could lead to death. Another word for t.v is idiot box.

Very general question. I believe in living a life in moderation. If you spend most of your time watching television then yes it is harmful. Since the invention of the television and the progression of it (cable, satellite) there has been a steady rise in obesity. People get lazy and want to sit and be entertained. The more we get the more we want. TV can be like a drug. If we watch it all the time it begins to control us. If you limit your TV watching, alcohol consumption, food intake and get plenty of rest and exercise as well as intellectual stimulation then it is not harmful. If we do too much of anything it can be harmful.

yes, rays (I believe ultraviolet or infrared) are omitted whenever the television is turned on. These rays are usually harmless in small doses, but if you sat right in front of the tv for hours on end, you might be in trouble. Also, it is harmful because watching tv can be an addictive habit that accomplishes nothing. However, it does make for great entertainment.

It can be both educational and harmful. It keeps us abreast of world news, while on the other hand people confuse TV and movies with the real world, and in that respect, it can be harmful.
I know of grown women who have become so engrossed in soap operas, that they entertwine their lives with the characters on screen. Ridiculous !

In some cases it may be harmful to us, especially towards people who get influenced easily by the media and what they see on the television. If anyone you know is like that, its best to keep them away from violence, lust (dirty movies) and other negative programmes on show.
