I know how to play acoustic guitar, but would like to pick up on bass. I know the basics of bass can play most songs in very basic (boring) manner but would like to get Much better. I don’t mind learning bass from the very basic either, because I never formally learned it and just pick it up myself. A link to such the video, website or book would be greatly appreciated.

P.S. If any of you live around South Bay, California and can teach bass for a low price (~$20/hour) Let me know! =)

a book called progressive bass, comes with CD and DVD to play along to. I suggest that you do get some lessons initially as well.

you do not need tabs just because you are a beginner. Tabs are for Wussies and you do not want to be one! Learning music is very easy but takes a little time and patience. The problem with tab is that it is an imitation of what you ahve already heard. Start with the Hal Leonard Complete Edition -it has books one two and three all in one. That should keep you busy for a while and it even has tabs if you really need it- but don't rely on tabs, they hold you back from real learning and creativity
