I just called the Wells Fargo 1-800 number, and someone answered, then burped! Then hung up.

Typically, banks are closed on New Years.

I was in banking for 7 years and we were never open on New Years Day.

I don't think banks ore open on New Years Day. Where I live they have Wells Fargo Banks inside of some grocery stores, maybe those would be open.

I bailed out of my BoA credit card account and moved it to a local bank when BoA tried sticking me with high interest and weird billing. I have a retirement fund through Wells but never had any banking per sec. My local bank does not charge me for checking or saving. Plus their CC are very low interest compared to most of the larger banking places. Really think you need to look around, after all it is your money your giving away. If you feel a need to give money away, throw some my way:)

I'm glad to hear they have a sense of humor at Wells Fargo. They'll probably be enjoying the day off for the New Year's Day holiday.
