First of all 'pollution' is a term coined by humans and DUE TO HUMANS.
Volcanic eruption is a naturally occuring process and cannot be technically regarded as a polluting agent.
The principal components of volcanic gases are water vapor (H2O), carbon dioxide (CO2), sulfur either as sulfur dioxide (SO2) (high-temperature volcanic gases) or hydrogen sulfide (H2S) (low-temperature volcanic gases), nitrogen, argon, helium, neon, methane, carbon monoxide and hydrogen. Other compounds detected in volcanic gases are oxygen (meteoric), HCl, HF, HBr, NOx, SF6, COS, and organic compounds. Exotic trace compounds include methyl mercury, halocarbons (including CFCs), and halogen oxide radicals.
except water, noble gases hydrogen all others are pollutants
Heavy polluting metals like cadmium, mercury, selenium are also emitted in lavas.

Enough pollution that an eruption of one in 1800 caused an ice age that lasted a few years. 1800 is known as the year without a summer. It snowed in July in the New England area. So we know that pollution can cause serious climate changes. I would seriously caution that just because a volcano is capable of producing more is no reason to discount the effects man has on his environment.

Jet Aircraft criss-crossing the world each pouring tons of pollution directly into the upper atmosphere (where it does the very most damage). Everyone immediately thinks cars, when if they stopped flying abroad for their week long holiday, they would negate the emissions their cars make for at least a year! It is all about what is most/ least palatable, is air-travel more or less indispensable than cars? Lets ban ALL planes and go back to tall (sail) ships!

it depends on how big a volcano explosion is,and whats the main content spewed out of it,but its not as lethal as the pollution created by humans

Just one fact can be recalled here,
volcanic eruption of mount erebus over antarctica is alone responsible for the 50 percent emmission of chlorine to atmosphere.
