And which came first the Pigeon or the Egg?

There are many different species of pigeon and they are found on all continents except, probably, Antarctica. Domestic pegeons are European rock pigeons that have been intoduced around the world. Pigeons are good eating and a friend of mine breeds them for the pot.

The passenger pigeon was a native American pigeon that numbered in the billions with flocks tens of kilometres wide. It was hunted for food and subjected to habitat destruction. The last one died in Cincinatti in 1911.

Ah, the noble pigeon. Another gift to the New World from those Europeans. Apparently they first "landed" in North America in Nova Scotia, brought by settlers in the 1600s. Pigeons have been domesticated for many years and have served many purposes. They have been used for food (squab) and some are bred for that purpose - if there was a famine in NYC would certainly be a ready source of food for a while. Trained pigeons have been used as homing devices to transmit messages. They are also frequently used in laboratory experiments.

Pigeons have, for better or worse, learned to cohabitate with humans; perhaps so many people hate them because they remind us of us? There is no real evidence that they spread disease. At least not to humans. As for the egg/pigeon issue, I couldn't say. They're here now, that seems to be more relevant!

Why do people keep asking this question?......

Pigeons are not to be eaten because they are unclean...... They are a diseased creature.....

but, if and when starvation comes upon the land, and it must be.. then, it will be.... and I will eat it..... i will thank God for it, too!!!

and the reason why is because there is a Scripture which states to let no man judge you according to the food, a sabbath, a new moon etc..... and so, I will eat if I need to...... God wont have us starve to death if we can survive ourselves with what is around us.....

Pigeons were used to carry messages....... They were messengers... and are messengers in dreams......

The pigeon came first..... There would have been nothing to keep the egg warm..... and it is warmth that is needed to hatch an egg, otherwise it would rot.......

Pigeons are birds. If they are unhealthy yes, but some would be just as healthy as chickens.

You say," diseased pigeons" ? Correct me if I'm wrong but isn't there a countless number of humans that are dying from some sort of diseases today? So if we go by your logic, then we are all diseased creatures roaming around earth. Now, pigeons are living and breathing creatures so obviously they are bound to the same laws of our planet. I tell ya, there is not one study that has been done proves pigeons existence has either killed or harmed humans, on the other hand humans have been extremely busy exploiting everything at the expense or should I say lives of countless god's creatures without mentioning the horrific things we do to each other.
