I don't know of a faster way. He died instantly. It too bad the United States can't learn from the Iraquis how to carry out a death sentence in a timely manner. We could learn a lot from them couldn't we?

A hanging properly done is quite humane but lets face there is no humane way to kill someone. It is necessary in some cases but if the state and people determine to kill someone lets not be so hypocritical as to pretend we care whether the subject suffers or not. What we are really want to be protected from is how we react to the subjects death. If you have determined that the subject is guilty and deserves death take him into a cell and in a soft space behind the left ear place a 9mm bullet. If you going to execute someone it is the end result that you should be concerned about not the process. Consider the subject dead from the time sentence is past. How the body is immobilized and made ready for disposal is really not important.

Honestly hanging may be seen as barbaric, but it's one of the more humane way to kill people by many people's standards. When one is hung, they're basically instantly killed, with no pain, limited ceremony leading up to the process, and little chance of survival or an unsnapped neck if it is done correctly.

This is unlike the electric chair which has shown to be more painful, and less efficient in killing.

Lethal injection on the other hand, we see as modern because there is no blood, or physical injury, but honestly, you sit there for an hour getting 8 different injections to slowly disable your different bodily functions and kill you... The thought process while this is taking place wouldn't exactly be pleasant, basically you're dying for an hour, rather than a fraction of a second.

I was shocked when I found out it was a hanging. I thought it wasn't done anymore either, but heck what else were they going to do. Hanging would be very cheap way of doing it. Electric chair is expensive, who knows what lethal injection costs, and if they did something like eye for an eye they would be seen no better than Sadam.

Saddam was a tough guy, hate him or not. He knew what he was in for. Hanging is quick. It breaks the neck and spine. Believe me, there are much slower, much more painful and lingering ways in which Saddam could have been killed. And Saddam knew that, since he had his own enemies killed in these other kind of sadistic executions.

I don't revel in pain and torture, but hanging was almost too good for Saddam, whether or not you agree with the fact that he should have been executed.

You know I do agree with the hanging method...it is completely humane...far more humane than all of the killing orders he gave to so many people.
I think that even in our country...people on death row in prison...once they have appealed and gone through the proper procedures and protocol blah blah blah and are still convicted...should not have death by lethal injection. For one it is far too costly and it is hypocritical for doctors to take part of. Bullets and rope when used right cam be highly effective and virtually painless ways to die. I think we should honor firing squads.....bullets are cheap. Hangings are done with secrecy and the rope is reusable.
Part of the problem with our justice system is we are constantly worried about what the death row criminals rights are....believe me I could go on and on. Take for instance that @ss of a person that murdered Polly Klaas....why should he be put to death by lethal injection???? He stole that child, scared and threatened all of her friends ( causing trauma), raped her, killed her, hid her and then lied about it...he should die with "humane" treatment????
I don't think so...he should be drug out to a field like the violent animal that he is and taken out of OUR misery!! And why should we have to house and feed him for 20 - 30 years before his execution??? I am sure it would be gut wrenching to watch because after all he too is one of God's children BUT...how gut wrenching was it for that Klaas family to deal with their loss...much less our nation???

Hanging was far more humane than his own methods of executing people. If you think hanging is ugly, try being fed to a plastic shredder, feet first!.

His insurgents are fond of power drill torture, be-heading, shot in the head...execution style, not to mention bombs. And I hear there's three different videos showing his execution on Iraqi tv(must be three different angles). I think arabs really get off on watching this s

If you would read the news you would know Saddam and his regime operated that execution chamber. That is how Saddam and his government sentenced and executed people.Kind of ironic Saddam met the same fate he sentenced people to.
