I would go headers, duals and an edelbrock performer intake with a decent 4bbl carb. Relatively inexpensive, and easy to do for even a novice mechanic.

you will desire to alter oil AND filter out each and every 3 to 6 thousand miles. the difficulty with not doing it somewhat is that oil gets grimy, in spite of a filter out and the combustion technique contaminates the oil with acid. enable it bypass long sufficient and the filter out clogs so there isn't any filtration of airborne dirt and dirt and steel debris and the acid builds to the point that it eats away engine components best to early engine failure. in case you're having to characteristic oil in lots of cases then you definately the two have a leaky gasket someplace or the acid and airborne dirt and dirt have worn components to the factor that your engine is burning oil. in case you spot a bluish smoke popping out of your exhaust you're burning oil.

headers or the whirlwind-the item that you put in the air cleaner and it gives the air a whirlpool affect just about like adding tunnel ram injection for a fraction of the cost

headers would end up costing more to add unless your doing it yourself.......i would go with a new intake and carb. or a msd ignition... or you could convert the belt system to a "serpentine" system which would give you around 35 more hp....

Bigger headers, bigger duel exhaust, cold air intake, bigger cfm carbs, super chip, higher octane gas, and a better high performance cam shaft.
