Like how throughout history empires conquered other lands.. But, now we can pretty much see the whole world at once in a way, do people still want to conquer and take over countries? It's hard to imagine when you really think about it, but it must be true, how long have empires been around, and what is the U.S. but an empire?

*sorry i posted this twice, I posted it in the wrong catagory.

Lincoln said that no army could ever, by force, take a drink out of the Ohio River, if America is to collapse it will come from within. To answer your question, yes American could be taken over by another empire (or whatever) and our lack of unity today is laying a really strong foundation for it.

As I've pointed out before in these answers, the USA isn't an empire. For all it's faults (which are many) it has not sought to expand by conquering and ruling other countries. And, personally, I don't think that other countries will seek empires in the way they have been known in the past. People are too politically conscious and too well educated for that to happen. But what will cause the USA to fall, by probably imploding to numerous smaller countries within the north American continent, is the sheer complacency exhibited by some of the answers to this question. These imply 'we are the greatest', 'it can't happen here'. Oh no you aren't, and oh yes it can. You might, in the noughties of the 21st century, have the strongest amount of firepower, but it won't always be thus. Nothing ever remains the same. Who would have said, 100 years ago, that within 70 years the British Empire would have all but ceased to exist?

The best answer to your question is found in the Bible. The following 2 books explain about the world powers, as prophesied in the Bible, & those prophecies fulfillments ...

The book:
"Daniel's Prophecy", in chapter 4:
"The Rise and Fall of An Immense Image",

combined with a particular chapter in the book:

"Revelation--It's Grand Climax At Hand":

The word HERE dude is GIVEN over
We are not going to be taken over
but we are --right now-- in the process of being GIVEN over to globalism---this nation is being taken down a road to the all powerful one nation under a global flag--and we are well on the road !!! This transition to a North American Union "thing" is but the first step in a long progression that was started decades ago and is rapidly coming to fruition--- and-- as the bro up topside had commented in his answer-- the general public doesn't seem to mind at all as long as they keep getting the stuff they want and enjoying that next new toy !!! Thoughts of the future generations have just simply vanished and even a lot of people with children seem to just not mind at all that they are serving up their children's future freedoms to the globalists !!! It is only a matter of time now-- and the time is VERY short !!!

The great empires fell from within. The greatest threat to the United
States comes from the falling number of people interested enough
to vote.Egypt fell from within long before it was conquered.Greece fell from within. They could not unite enough to defeat the Romans.
Rome became too corrupt.Voter lethargy is a cancer in any
society that has elections

From my own perspective, there's a good chance that the chinese can take over the US.I mean, the chinese are ahead of us about 10 years in technology.Education seems to be a priority to them.Forget about trying to conquer the US,they'll probably construct some device to blow up America.

The US is being taken over by hispanics as you sleep. You can't go to the bank without getting permission to use english. The Muslims are infiltrating our country all over, demanding their preferential treatment and the leftistst are supporting and encouriging them.

It's true. The US is seen by the Muslim world as imperialists for taking over Iraq. It seems pretty obvious when it's your own backyard, I'm sure.

the historical empires didn't have submarines armed with nuclear missiles with multiple targeted re entry vehicles on their tips. America would have to cave in.

Wellll.... 'Ad was the nation to which was sent the Prophet Hud (peace be upon him). Their story is mentioned in the Qur'an

"As for 'Ad, they were arrogant in the land without right, and they said: "Who is mightier than us in strength?" See they not that Allâh, Who created them was mightier in strength than them. And they used to deny Our Ayât (proofs, evidences, verses, lessons, revelations, etc.)!" [Qur'an 41:15]

This nation was eliminated because of their pride and arrogance and their rejection of their Creator and their sins.

So well, for all the rejecting denying stealing occupying looting and killing, I'd say the American government is bringing it upon itself!!
