Like how throughout history empires conquered other lands.. But, now we can pretty much see the whole world at once in a way, do people still want to conquer and take over countries? It's hard to imagine when you really think about it, but it must be true, how long have empires been around, and what is the U.S. but an empire?

This can definitely happen, and at some point in time, it almost certainly will. Every empire falls--it's just a historical fact. If we were to try to predict right now what the causes of a collapse would be, the simple answers would be our steadily weakening position in the world economy (relative to China, for example) and growing anti-American sentiment around the world.
Then again, if things get really hinky, there is always the remote possibility of an internal upheaval, although I think that's very unlikely.

The U.S is a country like all other countries hardly an empire to be an empire you would have to have alot of other countries under U.S control and rule which although you may think so you DONT!! you just have bad foreign policies.

The truth is America is loosing its grasp on the #1 slot in the list of nations. It can be fixed, but things would have to change. We would have to revitalize our industrial complex so that we actually build things in this country again. We would have to liberate ourselves from our dependancy on forgein energy sources. We would have to increase our output of food and other trade goods to buy the raw material resources that we cannot produce ourselves.
It can be done, but it will take a massive overhaul of corperate America to so jobs and factories are not going overseas.

Perhaps the most interesting part of your question is"...another empire". About time someone else recognised the American situation as Imperialism.

Anything is possible but I think it is highly unlikely.
My only caveat would be if we don't control immigration and we have a cultural revolt from inside supported by a parent country.
