When light passes through a prism, it separates into the colors of the rainbow. Light from the sun hits imperfect prisms in the atmosphere (ice crystals, water drops, etc.) and the blue scatters more than the other colors do. Thus, when looking up at the sky, you see the blue more than the other colors.
The sea reflects the sky, so unless you're looking at a sunset over the water, again, you mostly just see the scattered blue.

white light is the combination of the seven colors of the rainbow.
Depending on the particles in the air, the sky will let certain colors thru. we see a rainbow when it rains because the air has been "washed" of those particles.
Water on the other hand is clear and has the properties of a mirror. with the exception of when algae or cloud cover is present, it will take on that color. So if the sky is blue the sea is blue.

The sky is blue because the earth's atmosphere refracts light from the sun so that all colors of the light spectrum but blue are scattered.
The sea is blue because of the shape and size of water molecules. Their molecules vibrate in the frequency of the color blue.

That`s the color we see when light rays reflect off of the oxygen in our atmosphere. The blue in the ocean is mostly a reflection of the sky.

the atmosphere (sky) much like water (sea) is not blue...its very much clear what your seeing is the refraction of light that simply make it appear a certain color this occurs because the wavelength of light is absorbed differently in any given medium and blah blah blah its all very bill nye the science guy type stuff

i think its because of the reflection of the white light when diffraction occurs so only blue light is emitted other colours are absorbed

as blue colour is having the shortest wavelength,so more scattering.

blue is a percieved notion, because kids ask why.......... hydrogen is generally blocking blue and therefore it is reflected back
