For him yes. But the Iraqi people don't appear to have wanted that for him. They don't seem to have wanted him to have any pride left in his death. They seem to have wanted him to die in despair, and dishonor, AND look like the fool, that he was in life, in death. It seems to me they got, not only what they wanted, as in him being disgraced in death, without a so-called honorable death, but their personal justice on him, as well. He paid the price physically, as well as religiously. They deserved 1000 times, the satisfaction they got. Saddam died in dishonor, and for the Iraqi people, he died justly, as the horrific murdering criminal he WAS. Bless the people of Iraq, and their wise decision!

No, it would have made him a hero to his fans. I think this way is better in for the long term because he got as fair a trial as he was ever going to get, which is more than his victims got, his statements of defence were broadcast, so his fans can't say what he said was surpressed, and the sentence was carried out by the Iraqi Government, not American Soldiers.

Saddam is fine where he is now. It would have been good to keep his sorry butt alive and feed him Jimmy Dean sausage links w/extra Sage but things happen for a reason. It's good as it is. We don't need anymore silly@zzed martyrs.

I think it would have been a lot more satisfying if he would have been mutilated by a dozen TOW misslles like his sons. But I thinks it more fitting he didn't and that we found him in hiding like the coward he was.

Perhaps, 'if-and-when' the American Governement becomes 'civilised', then the 'death-penalty' will cease to be a 'viable' course-of-action'..
