Practice and more practice. Soon they will become callused and even look a little longer. Keep finger nails short..

There use to be something on the market called finger ease but I can't find it any more.

The type of strings you use helps a little. Go check it out at your music store.

I can't think of anything else, but to just keep pressing down hard. The more you press down hard on the keys, the more your fingers will harden up. You don't have to practice *well not FULL practice* you can just hold the chords while watching tv or something. Don't strum, just hold. lol

Practicing and playing is the only way I know of from experience.

If you are not willing to get the callouses by working hard at it, then maybe you shouldn't be playing guitar. Callouses are not given, they are earned.
