We have become a society who have come to believe that anything they see on television is the truth, no matter how far they have to stretch their idea of credibility, and if the television is really telling them the truth. I think what you're seeing is a general regression of the population, as they use television more and more as an escape mechanisms from which are mostly dull, uninteresting routines. It's nicer to think that you have just seen a ghost, for instance, because it bucks the routine that has become their lives. You could say that people truly are that dumb, but it's mostly a state of addled mindenesss, similar to any other addict. Of course those white orbs are nothing but a trick of the camera, an illusion, these are the fixes they need in order to survive their horrible existences.

Actually, I wouldn't call it dumb unless they start trying to convince *other* people that these *must* be ghosts. Trying to convince other people of mere theories? That's obnoxious. But sharing theories of your own? Nothing wrong with that.

The ability to hypthesize about unexplained elements is actually a sign of intelligence. The inability to understand anything but the physical world... that's a better illustration of someone with a handicapped intelligence than the ability to think outside the box. There were times when the majority of people asked, "Are people dumb enough to believe the world is round?" and "Are people dumb enough to believe that something so tiny you can't see it can make you sick?" And not every theory can be correct--unless you take chances, *no* theories will be advanced. So rather than sitting back and mocking those doing the idea work, why not come up with some interesting ideas of your own?

And no--I'm not saying that the orbs are ghosts. I'm saying I don't know what they are, and welcome good ideas from thinking people.

People believe what they desperately want to believe: that their deceased loved ones are still in this plane of existence. That doesn't make them 'dumb' honey, it makes them sad and desperate.
