i thought of the same thing (cept with the channels BET.)
i think its a way of making up to us("african-americans) because of the past. its all stupid really. no one (no matter wat race they are) deserves their own special TV or College and so on.

Because black people weren't allowed into the other colleges during Jim Crowe and segregation so they had to make up their own institutions. Now, they are called HISTORICALLY black colleges for that reason. Therefore, whites can go as well, and there are some whites that go there.

because the blacks, and most people that are Politically Correct minded, think that blacks should get rewarded with certain things because of the slavery and oppression they went through. You're right, if there were a "white college" then there would be lawsuits. a black man i worked with once said "black power!" but if a white man were to say "white power" he would be accused of being a KKK member. Too many frickin double standards! It's assinine!

Bless your heart. We have HBC because we could not attend your colleges. So we had to start our own schools to educate ourselves. Historically Black Colleges are not something new. There have been Caucasian colleges forever. Back when we opened our own schools it was simply because we were not ALLOWED in yours. BTW there are Asians and Caucasians who go to HBC's on scholarships. Does anyone owe them anything? No?

They did that at a Massachusetts college and the ACLU came in to stop it. Boycott the UNCF, if you don't qualify due to the color of your skin - fuc(k) them.
