what's more disturbing to me is the amount of people asking how they can see it. why would you want to see another person die?

Because, the Iraqi people wanted proof. They wanted to see his actual body dead for many reasons. To have peace of mind, to get closure, to move on to another era, to believe that they actually are under another leader, to know they can be free and not have to go through negative consequences. That last one is because they were afraid that Saddam was eventually going to come pack in power. They thought Saddam, would have them killed if he found out that they were following another leaders policies(or for whatever petty reason.) He put great fear in his people, he would have them killed for breaking the law. Wouldn't you want to see someone that haunted your life and dreams dead so you had proof? Think of it this way; victims of people that get the death penalty, when murderers go to the gas chamber or get lethal injection, the victims and families of victims get an option to witness the death. This is for the same reason as explained above.

I guess you can say it is history, just like the jfk tape, and the MLK tape, i see it at school. It is a change in history. I saw the Saddam hanging, dont know how i felt about it, but it was bad, but i still wanted to see, not to laugh, but to see history.

It was a mob thing The US gave him over to the Mob to be hanged.The Mob and The US got off on seeing this Fool put in his place.The Mob called him a loser the same way we call our prisioners losers. Can you say Bravado it made the Mob and the US feel good.Cross us and we turn you over to the Mob.Once again this war is been handled badly.The Tape will only serve to get people upset with the US . and the new goverment of Iraq.
