I have a Lift-master 1/3 hp garage door opener, and over the last year it has had problems with the sensors not being lined up or too much sun glare. Is there a way to overide the sensors?

This is not a good Idea.
But you asked.
Put a piece of white paper between the sensors.
The side of the paper that does not have a little red spot of light on it,
Take that sensor apart and twist the two wires together.
Again
This is not a good idea.

Try switching the heads from one side to the other... One is a sender and the other is a receiver. If you switch the receiver to the non sunny side maybe that will work. Give it a try.

You could also try to fabricate some kind of blinder to prevent the sun from shining into the head... I think you could accomplish this with duct tape and cardboard.

I would not ever want to defeat a safety feature of something so powerful.
