Well it does sound like a very good idea I would be for it all the way, except for one thing, do you really want your hard earned dollars going to house that dirty bast*%& for the rest of his life?
I mean think of all the spammers out there, yeah some will get caught, others will get scared and stop spamming, and some will get smarter and find ways not to get caught.
Now if every spammer was sent to jail for life, think of how fast the jails would fill up, then they would need to build more to house them all, and thats more tax dollars.
Maybe chop their hands off so they can't type anymore, and if they learn to type with their feet chop them off, and keep chopping until they can no longer type.

The jail business is just too big as is. We have developed an entire industry with the incarcerated. A tremendous amount of tax money is needed to feed the ever increasing corporate prisons and jails.
Watch what you ask for, you will get it.

I think a life sentence of no access to computers would be more appropriate.
