could be she was used to the schedule of you being at home, and most likely since you went back to work the schedule has changed, and is causing her some stress.

After 3 1/2 months, she had finally established what the world is like. She's there being her beautiful charming self, and Momma's there with her.

Then all of a sudden, it all changes.

She's' having to deal with the fact that her entire world is changing. I'd give her a little time. Once she gets into a routine again, she'll probably settle down some.

Think of it this way: most adults get irritable (the grown up word for "cranky") following major stressors like moving, getting a new job, getting married, having a child, etc. It's only fair that your infant be given the time to work through those feelings, too, since 1.) she's never known anything else and 2.) she's an infant, incapable of being able to reason or bring herself out of the cranky state.

Give her lots of love and hugs and playtime when you're with her, but also be patient and try to relax some during the transitional time. She'll be alright soon.

Babies are very sensitive little creatures. If you've just returned to work, you're probably feeling stressed and a little unhappy, and your baby may be picking up on this. I went back to work when my baby was 8 weeks...it was such a hard adjustment! Here are some things that really helped us. Do you have a partner or friend who could take over a large part of the housekeeping chores for a few weeks? This will let you spend those precious evening hours with your baby, instead of doing chores. If you haven't tried using a sling (taylormade makes a great one), you might want to give it a try. It's a soft baby carrier that you can use to keep the baby close to you as you're walking around the house, doing housework, or shopping. It works wonders with cranky babies!

Are you happy with your caregiver? If you have a responsive, caring person, your baby should form a secure attachment with this person as well as you. Don't worry--your baby's attachment with the caregiver will not diminish her affection and love for you. Your baby should be in a place where she is held often and allowed to keep to her favorite routine. If you aren't happy with the care situation, investigate other options. (I know it's hard to find good, reliable care! But it's out there.)

One more possibility. My baby was about the same age when he developed his first ear infection. (No fever, no classic symptoms, nothing except his crankiness to clue me in!) If your baby still seems very cranky, check with the pediatrician just in case!

She probely does miss you and could very well be teething. Just think you have been the main person in her whole life and have a strong bond and you have been with her all that time and now your not. She will be okay its just something that she has to get used too. But also take in mind that she is at that age where they are teething and that could be the main problem.

could be that. I am a single mom and don't get child support. My child had anxiety due to my working 30 hours a week and I had to cut it back and live a little more poor until she was a little bit older...
