Hitler wrote a book "Mein Kampf" where he laidout what he intended to do as the leader of Germany. He warned the world. The shot himself because he didn't want to be captured by Soviet troops.
Saddam ran like a scared rabbit when the US troops overtook Baghdad. The only reason he didn't kill himself was because when he was captured he had constant security around him. But, he did have a loaded gun on him when he was captured.
I would have to say Hitler was more of a coward. He knew what was ahead of him and didn't want to face trial, especially from the Soviet Union. Stalin would have had him boiled in oil or hacked to pieces before the allies could organize a fair trial.

You can't really compare. Hitler knew that he'd lost the war and the allies were closing in - that his only options were suicide or being taken prisoner. As far as i'm aware, Saddam thought he still had a chance and so maybe did not prepare for being captured (if he had, i guess he wouldn't have been filmed being captured in his underwear). He still thought he had a 3rd option - conducting a guerrilla war, so he may not have thought that the other 2 options needed to be considered. Besides, he was a clever man. Now the public see him as having been 'murdered by the americans'. How much better for him and his fellow criminals than him quietly killing himself.

Not really a valid comparison. Hitler would have face the vengeance of the Jews and Russians and therefor did the sensible thing. Saddam had been a friend of the US and received much US ordinance to assist him in his war against Iran. He probably did not expect a puppet government to be installed in Iraq to try him in a kangaroo court. Most deposed leaders are sent into exile to end their days in obscurity.

Oh Hitler definetly!
Suicide is the most pathetic cowardly act imaginable.
Even if Saddam did not pull the trigger on himself out of some freaky god complex that made him assume he was still the leader of the world even whilst hiding in a rat hole, he was still far superior in courage to Hitler. Who by the by actually poisoned himself in the last desperate moments before he was to be taken into allied custody.

u must be crazy. Saddam is no coward. He was a hitman working for the Baath party. When he was just 19 years old, he tried to assassinate the then Iraqi president in the centre of baghdad.
No I do not think the man was a coward. He was killed not because he was a dictator and killed many of his fellow countrymen, but because he didn't fit into the american olans fro the region, which he opposed. Another question: was he bloodier than the actual american-led regime ? certainly not

In all fairness to Saddam, he didn't have any access to cynanide tablets like Hitler did. And besides, Adolf did it on his own time instead of falling into the hands of the Russians.

Saddam showed more courage than the baying animals who watched him die. They, were the true moral cowards.
The one thing that people are forgetting, is that, they didn't just hang Saddam, they hung the President of Iraq. There is usually some respect shown for the office, even if not for the man. That is why deposed leaders are usually excommunicated and not executed.
