A cheater is dishonest and does immoral or illegal things to better himself. A copycat simply imitates another person, which is almost always a reflection of the copycat's respect for that person. A connection between the two terms might be that a cheater might copy another person's answers on a test, though that doesn't really relate to a copycat.

Cheater:
Someone who leads you to believe something that is not true
CopyCat
Someone who copies the words or behaviour of another
hehhe wel, by the definitions, the cheater can cheat the copycat, but I feel they're the same

they are almost the same but alittle bit different...like a copycat emulates what another person does while a cheater does illegal things morally and doesn't have any value

A copycat imitates what you have already done. A cheater steals your ideas before you do it

The cheater is original. The copy cat's cheating isn't because he copied it.
