going to cave in ONCE AGAIN and trade hundreds of Palestinians for the life of one Israeli soldier... Since they've done this time and time again, why even bother keeping up the pretense that they don't negotiate with terrorists, when everyone knows it's a big laugh?

I'm not criticizing them for negotiating...what I'm asking is - since they clearly DO negotiate, why bother keeping up the absurd facade that they don't? Who do they think they're fooling?

Oh well, at least ONE person gave an attempt at a serious answer... This was not a criticism of Israel. I'm simply asking what policy goal is advanced by lying about their stance on negotiation with terrorists.

you are bringing out an interesting element of politics. and if you look up politics in the dictionary you will find that it means "two or many faces" poly=many, tica=face. thus the short answer to your question is--not only Israel but so do other leadership in other countries do change their policies according to times and the wishes of their electorate which means "we the people" and that is the way it should be. Put yourself for a minute, in front of a gun pointed towards your most beloved child or parent. You are bound to have second thoughts and therefore action. what you call negotiation is a turn of phrase which means "political ideologies talk and exchange and balance new position" there is nothing wrong with that -- this is new reality. and the world is made up everyday of new realities. this is a philosophical way of seeing and responding but it is facts of life you have to begin to understand if you want to make progress. nothing is static in this world and your ideas and views are no exception. hope it helps.

Time Israel kicked out all so called 'Palestinians' anyway! The Land was given to the Jews not some imposing Islamists!

Israel leadership is arrogant. They have to bow to their people and younger generation who do not wish to live in fear. I think younger people do not hate Arabs. They want to live in peace and progress.
