You mean a notebook or a desktop right. You can get an ok one for school work for around $300 Canadian new. For a kid in fifth grade it will be hard to save for. $300 is not a simple matter. Talk to your parents ask them how you could save up. I think they should get one for you.

You could try to keep things more neat and work on your skills to not lose stuff. I am pretty sure you can get an even cheaper laptop used maybe even from the school you could try talking to the principal?

Sounds like you need to improve your organizational skills BEFORE you get a tablet PC. Start focusing on taking better notes, keep a daily journal with a detailed list of homework assignments and when they're due. If you are that disorganized, then you'll just have a disorganized tablet PC. Plus, it will take you a very long time to save up the several hundred dollars to buy one. In the mean time, you can earn extra money by offering to do extra chores, shovel snow, walk neighbors dogs, etc.

ASk Mom if you can earn extra money- walk the dog, fold the laundry, clean the bathroom, wash the kitchen floor, cook dinner.

My guess is that you can add the bucks up real fast like that if your Mom is a typical mom.

In the meantime, you need to organize your room, so you have a place to keep your school supplies and notes, so you no longer lose them. If you ask Mom for suggestions, it will help show her that you are really trying.

your teacher suggested your parents buy you a $1000+ computer because you lose your notes? interesting teacher.

There is no way a 5th grader needs a laptop/tablet this high tech for class.

if you want to make some cash, try doing odd jobs for neighbors like painting, cutting grass, washing cars. Money doesn't come fast, but thats life.

6 weeks doesn't sound like very long at all really, you could probably take at least a little longer if you wanted. I would just tell them that you want to pay them $250-$300 a week for the next 6 weeks and you'll pay them back and ask if that is ok with them. I'm sure they will say its fine.

Try saving your money, not buying anything, and doing extra chores or helping people in you area/neighborhood. Also, if you can, try getting a laptop instead of a tablet. Tablets are considerably more expensive, and trying uo your notes shouldn't be too hard. Good luck!

Hey, I like your friends! And having some fancy bit of technology won't save your butt. If you are disorganized, having a toy won't help your test grades, I don't care what your teacher says. Oh, by the way, I'm also a teacher.

Canvass the neighborhood and see if you can clean house, basements, garages for a fair fee.

Remove weeds from flowerbeds, trim bushes, general yard cleaning, etc.

Anyone who wants to work, will find work.
