You hippocritic republicans make me sick you are all against obortion but for the death penalty, so which is it , you cant be pro-life then be for capital punishment. besides that ,it has little to do with the economy, this country has never prospered under a republican adminastration, the last 6 years should be proof enough , republican president, congress, and senate, they are only!!! for the wealthy and have never started any program to help the working class.

Me. I'm a Democrat. In fact, I'm what is called a "yellow dog" Democrat meaning I will always vote the party and not the man (or woman). The only time I have ever voted for a Republican was in 1976 when Reagan ran against Ford in the GOP primary in North Carolina. I switched to vote for Ford in the primary then the next week went back to the Democratic Party.
There are some Republicans I like: McCain, Snowe, Colin Powell, but the bulk of them follow the party line so righteously that they are not allowed to think. Perhaps that goes with all parties - a Democrat cannot come out against choice and a Republican cannot be pro choice. If they do, they get the shaft. But all in all, the stands of the GOP are not mine so I don't vote for them.
So, I'm glad you are a Democrat, keep looking at the issues and the clear divide between the parties will become evident. Those who say there is no difference between the parties are not paying attention.

I'm a registered Independent who currently sides with the Dems on many issues. The Republicans are just a plain scary bunch right now. Too radical. I like the Dems because they are more of a "coalition" of a lot of diverse groups - something the Repubs have been brainwashed into not believing. Rush Limbaugh serves up a batch of very strong Kool Aid.

I don't agree with you. In fact, up until I noticed a startling amount of idiots representing the Democratic party (Al Gore "I created the Internet", and the tantrums he threw after the election. Clinton and the Intern, Kerry's lies.) I would have said that I didn't align myself to one party or the other.
But I'm proud to say I'm a Republican and I fully support President Bush. He's the first president ever that I've been totally behind and proud of. He speaks his mind and does what he thinks is right regardless of liberal opinion.

I am, and I applaud you. Don't believe those who say you'll turn Republican when you grow up. I didn't! I've been a Democrat my whole life and I always will be. All my children are Democrats, too. You can be proud to be a Democrat because we have done great things for this country. Don't let anyone put you down or tell you differently.

My views are closest to Libertarian views. Don't listen to these ignorant people putting you down just because you're 12. It's a rare thing to see young people truly interested in politics these days, and it's great that you're at least putting some thought into what you believe. Keep yourself informed, and good luck. Happy new year! :)

Do you actually understand the difference between Democrat and Republican? I think not. And at 12 years old, you should be in bed, asleep. By the way, when I was in school, I thought I was a Democrat, too. Then I graduated college, started working, and figured out taxes and who wanted more of my money to give to people who didn't want to work. Don't make judgments until you do the research.

im republican.. mostly because i dont believe in killing babies
before they are born.. or taking money away from the hard working and giving it to the lazy.. or disrupting family values
with perverted lifestyles, which are all items democrats are
wanting to do,, the big one is they dont want to defend the weak and stand up against the bullies of the world..
