I definitely prefer happy endings. I write stories with happy endings all the time. But I don't mind reading a book with a sad ending once in a while, I just wouldn't like to write one.

I enjoy both. Sad endings make you feel more, but sometimes happy endings feel more like an ending. What I hate is when the author doesn't really end the book. For example, I hated the way Stephenie Meyer ended New Moon. She restated all of Bella's problems, introduced a new problem, and then had her go into her house with her dad extremely mad at her. I despised that ending.

I definately enjoy sad endings more than I do happy ones. When I read a story that doesn't end in the perfect way you expect it to, it adds a certain sense of reality to it. Also, sad endings cause more of an emotional reaction from the reader, making them think more and form a greater connection with the story or movie that they read or watched. The perfect example of what I am talking about? One word: "Titanic" .

Though sad endings can leave a dramatic and thoughtful end to a book often times I am happier with the ending that leave you feeling like everything is right in the world. Or at least in their world. Depending on what came before it, I really never know which I like better.

I prefer bittersweet endings where it's not all saccharine, happily-ever-after and instead there is a hint of darkness or sadness to the book/film. Endings like 'My Girl' where Thomas J died but Vada was finding the strength to make a more settled life for herself are what I enjoy.

Happy endings. Life is sad enough. I like to read about people who life's work out the way they want them to. Of course real life not that away but it is nice to escape into someone else's life every once in awhile.

I like both. What I hate is when a movie is over but there was really no ending. They don't tell you what happened. Now, I'm showing my age of this one but, the one that comes to mind is "The Boy in The Plastic Bubble". In the end the boy leaves his bubble against doctor's advise and rides off on horseback with a girl. They didn't say if he lived or died. I HATE that!!!!
