Have any of you been told by overseas buyers that payment would be made by some xyz bank and the bank would notify you of the payment, after which you will have to ship the item and let the bank know and they will verify it, and pay you the money. Sounds like escrow but a quick check with some banks like HSBC say that they do not provide such services. Some buyers even use strange banks like Griffon Bank?! They usually want u to ship electronic items like PDAs to nigeria and refuse to make payments by TT or Paypal or escrow?

Thanks.

Sounds downright fishy to me.
In fact, I have indeed heard of these kinds of scams. Only take payments via Paypal, etc. Put this in your item description. Any bidder who will not abide by this, report them, and relist the item or go to next bidder.
